WHAT: Members of the media are welcome at the ribbon cutting for the American Indian Business Enterprise program. Arrowhead Center, New Mexico State University’s entrepreneurship and innovation center, has been awarded a grant by the U.S. Minority Business Development Agency to establish the American Indian Business program. The $260,000 grant will expand Studio G, a business accelerator for students and recent alumni, to the American Indian Community.

The NMSU American Indian Program offers services that help American Indian students succeed and achieve their post-secondary goals. The AIP is committed to supporting students on both a personal and an academic level. The AIP nurtures student success by connecting students to on-campus resources and support services, which help students acclimate to NMSU’s diverse campus.
Indian Pueblo Opportunity Center at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center provides a place where artisans and small-scale farmers can better their crafts in a way that is educational, inspirational, and sustainable. The center will serve as a hub of creativity and opportunity that helps promote economic and social mobility in a safe environment for each individual.
NMSU Indian Resources Development works diligently to assist New Mexico Indigenous students in becoming agriculturalists, engineers, natural resources scientists, and business people prepared to contribute to the effective development and management of tribal resources. IRD collaborates with the State of New Mexico, the federal government, tribal communities and others to in supporting New Mexico tribes with their economic development efforts in the same focus areas.
